Welcome to our Website and thank you for your interest
in the German Shorthair Pointer (GSP). We have been breeding, raising,
training and hunting with the GSP for over 25 years. Our goal is
to breed a GSP that has an even temperament, is easy to train and
a family
dog that has great hunting instincts. Our dogs bark when visitors
arrive, but aren't aggressive to people or other dogs after entering
our home. Our GSP's are people oriented, will follow you around
the house and want to please their owners.
We sell our GSPs as house dogs, not as kennel dogs. Old wives
tales to the contrary, house dogs make the best hunting/family
dogs. We have had many repeat and multiple sales over the years.
If you want another GSP (and I don't know many people that don't),
we would welcome the opportunity to sell you a pup in a year or
two.
Of
our 17 GSPs, Louis, Annie, Mike, Archie and Sam, besides being
excellent hunters are active in pet therapy. They enjoy going to
Nursing Homes, Schools and other visitations. They perform obedience
drills and we participate in handler/dog square dancing. After
the performance, we interact with the people watching. The dogs
are eager to go to people to be petted and sniff around the room.
Usually there are between 15-20 dogs at the gathering, all well
behaved, trained animals.
An open invitation:
We
welcome and encourage you to visit us to see our dogs. In that
way, you will have the opportunity to see how our GSPs respond
to people. You can ask us questions about how we train our pups.
We have a lot of information, learned over the years, and are
happy to help you any way we are able. Email
us so we can set an appointment for your visit. If you have
young children, we suggest that you bring them for the visit.
We like to see how prospective buyers' children respond to the
GSP. If you have family or friends that you would like to have
present, they are welcome, too.
We are interested and willing to answer any questions you have
about the GSP. We have years of experience raising and training
our pups. Please email us and we will
contact you as soon as we are able.

March 2008
Zoe caught a turkey while we were pheasant hunting at the
Delaware in December. She still likes to get ahead of us and
we found her pointing a turkey in a tree. When we got closer
to look at it, it took off but close to the ground, she took
off after it and retrieved it.

Today she grabbed a pheasant
on the fly, it was one that we knocked down, it wasn't
at full strength. She pointed the 10 birds that we stocked
and
3 of
the follow-ups that we missed. Dan and Wyatt a 10 year
old did the shooting, Dan got four and Wyatt got two. I got
to shoot them all with my camera. - Ed Zielke
 Zoe
is from the first Harriet/Sam litter (2006) and is owned by
Ed Zielke.
